BA (Hons) Travel and Tourism Management at the University of West London

Since I was little the most amazing thing
I really enjoyed in a kind of way is the culture itself. I mean how people behave, what they
eat, what they do in everyday life. So when I started looking for courses I started to
realise this is the thing I want to do in the future – making people happy. So this
is why I chose travel and tourism. Plus, the course was with a placement. It’s great,
you can actually get involved in the industry itself. I truly believe that the placement
actually pushed me to achieve the stuff I would have never hoped to achieve. Students are found all over London. From major
international hotels such as The Savoy, tourist offices including Visit London, transportation
companies such as Thameslink, Eurostar. All these companies are London based and we’ve
been fortuntate in securing positions with – with many of them. Our staff are particularly
well qualified. Most of us have studied and worked around the world. We speak a number
of different languages and we have a range of work experience which essentially compliments
one another. Travel and tourism itself like in the third
year uh, was a really small group. It was less than thirty people in the lectures and
the lecturers… well they know you by your name. Every single time you have any questions
or anything like that you can actually go and speak to them. It’s more personal. One
of the main reasons to study in London, especially in this uni, you have many many different
opportunities. You can’t get this in a small town. You have to be in the big city.
