Bachelor of Tourism Management

Bachelor of Tourism Management

The Bachelor of Tourism Management means
that it’s focused on students wanting a a career in the very broad Tourism
Industry. We’ve designed the program to be as flexible as possible and I think
that’s probably one of the great appeals of the course to students but it’s also
one of the reasons that our students enjoy very good career outcomes because
they are well suited to a range of different career paths. Half of our core units
come from Social Science and half of our core units come from the business
school. That enable students to the have a lot of choice in terms of
specialisations and in terms of majors and sub- majors. We’ve got a range of staff
with different areas of expertise in planning in product development, in
marketing. The teaching stuff are also active researchers and we bring our research
and our knowledge from our research into our teaching so that the teaching is
relevant but it’s really state of the art knowledge and information. Types of positions students go into
working with visitor services often thats with local Government. Working
in tourism marketing with organisations like Destination NSW or Tourism Australia. We’ve got multiple campuses including the
major campus at Parramatta where Tourism is a major component of the local and the
regional economy, provides lots of opportunities for students to engage and
do field work and work with industry and have guests lecturers but also to do placements that then lead to exciting
and rewarding careers.
