The government and local tourism authority
are receiving public recommendations until September eighth on the country’s best tourist
spots. The so-called “star of Korean tourism” has
been given to locations over the past nine years to recognize their contributions to
the industry, as well as to promote local tourism. There will be just two awards this year. The main prize will be given to locations
for their facilities, activities and food. The special prize will to go to the best new
and upcoming tourist spots or broadcast programs that have helped boost tourism to local sites. Winners will be announed in December.
