Pitch a tent Spending time camping forces one to always
expect the unexpected. To have a good experience, it is important to have a dry place to leave
your equipment. Pitching a tent is not a difficult task and everyone can do it. However, a few
practical tips could be useful. To begin, look around your campsite to determine the
ideal location to pitch your tent. Try to find a spot that is flat and has no rocks
or roots. It is important to respect the limits of the site. To help you do so, look out for
the yellow markers found on the ground. Next, prepare your equipment by laying out the necessary
items nearby. Remember how these items were stored since you will need to put them back
in the same state as when you arrived. First, spread out the base part of the tent. Think
about which direction the door will face. Snap together your poles by inserting each
small section into the other. These flexible poles will hold the walls and roof of the
tent together. Once assembled, carefully run your poles through the inner tent. If you
feel tension in the pole, it means it’s stuck in the inner tent. Once all the poles are
placed, snap them through the pole eyelet in each corner. These poles will form an arc. The small green pole is installed over the two main poles. This allows to maximize the space inside the tent. Once everything is assembled, snap the small hooks from the inner
tent to the main poles. Then, peg the four corners of the tent in the ground using a
mass at an angle of 45 degrees. Cover the inner tent with the outer tent. This impermeable
membrane will ensure the dryness inside the tent. Make sure that the manufacturer’s logo
is placed in the front, as this is the entrance of the tent. Once the outer tent is in place,
snap it to the base part of the tent. Peg the outer tent to the ground using the smaller
hooks. Your tent is now ready to welcome you. At this point, it is pleasant to prepare your
mattress and sleeping bag. Start by blowing the auto-inflating mattress. To do so, unscrew
the small valve and let it inflate for a few minutes. Remember to close the valve when
you place your sleeping bag. You are now ready for a good night’s sleep in the outdoors.
Take off your shoes before entering the tent. This will prevent it from getting dirty. You
will also want to keep the zippers closed as these will prevent mosquitoes from entering
the tent. That’s it! You are fully prepared for a wonderful stay in the park.
