LIFE BEFORE TRAVEL: Why I Quit My Job and Went for Solo Travel in Latin America

Hey! This is Eve, it’s nowornever, and today’s
story is about how i ended up in Colombia. Everything started really normal. I’ve grown up in a middle class family, single
child to a single parent – hey mum, i love u! Since i was a kid i knew that i need to study
good to enter good university for free, so i did. Thanks god, that in my town there weren’t
many interesting things to do. I had no idea about any of my special talents,
so i went to study economy in university to be able to find a “good” job. For my university i went to Saint-Petersburg,
and that’s how my “live alone” life started At the 3rd year of my uni, i was lucky to
join a student organization, called AIESEC, that kinda changed everything. There were social projects, international
interns, i gotta do real work, and there i figured that i love and can do graphic design. So, after uni i went to work in AIESEC Italy
for a year, and after for one year internship in Qatar. We did craaaaazy things. It was a small start-up, social enterprise
for youth development, and we did so many events and projects for young people and with
young people. And most of the time we had no idea what we
were doing. Like a 3 day open air sports festival on the
beach for 80.000 people. After 3 years i got bored to do design and
communication and started to manage a youth hub, which we converted in a coworking space
for start-ups. I fall in love working with entrepreneurs
and after a year got firmed with an idea to open my own space. But out of Qatar, where the lifestyle was
way too superficial for me. I wanted to go to Brazil since a very long
time, so i quit my job, bought a ticket and went to Sao Paolo in Feb 2015. With an idea to travel around Latin America
in 6 months, pick a place to live and open my business. What happened in reality is that after a 3
months, i met Rodrigo in Uruguay, with whom we started a bicycle trip. I have never had a bicycle before, i’ve
never camped before, but was always excited about a different kind of travel. So, we bought a map of Argentina, bicycle
and we went. For 3 months we cycled from Buenos Aires to
La Paz, where we split our ways. And from there i kept on cycling alone, until
1 year and 5000km later i ended up here, in Colombia. Before i left to Brazil, a friend of mine
told me, that it’s really a “nowornever” moment for me to go travel. So, that became a name for a travel blog,
also a motto, that helped me in moments of fear or hesitation, and even a tattoo, which
i got later on in Bolivia )) It’s been more than 1.5 year on the road,
and i’m not planning to stop anytime soon. I figured that many things i’ve learned
about the world and life have nothing to do with reality, so i got so much to unlearn,
rethink and discover. I want you to be part of it as well, so with
this channel i want to invite you to challenge a “normal” lifestyle and way of thinking,
and start following your path, for real – It’s Now or Never!
