MBA Students Travel to Cuba

So the Bellarmine MBA program has
allowed me to grow professionally in a way that I didn’t think I would. I got to
go to Cuba which was awesome and I never really thought of Cuba as a country that
I would want to go to but after having that experience it was completely
life-changing probably the most life-changing experience I’ve ever had
so Cuba is super interesting once we place the embargo Russia was like the
main facilitator for economy so a lot of things are like Russian influence there
but Russia pulled it out there they’re funding pretty much for lack of a better
term in like the 90s and so since then Cuba’s pretty much in a time machine
there’s a ton of old cars and some Cubans have to be really innovative on
how to keep these cars running and so you’ll see like the cars from the 50s
which are which are super cool and some of them look really great but also you
did like inside the houses you’ll see really old furniture it’s and there’s
some really beautiful parts especially when you kind of get out the city the
rolling hills and barns it’s not what people usually see of people which is
really awesome my undergraduate degree is an exercise science and now as an MBA
student I’m learning something that’s completely different I think that for
any career being able to navigate a different culture is really important
whatever occupation you have you’re going to be interacting with people of
all different backgrounds and having that experience with government was
life-changing anything that everybody needs to do once whether
it’s going to Cuba or going to any other country
