Picnic Day | UC Davis Chemistry

Hi! I’m Stephanie Hare, a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Chemistry, and we’re here at Davis’ 103rd Annual Picnic Day. [crowd cheers] This Picnic Day is special
for the Chemistry Department because one of the parade marshals is the Chemistry Department’s
own Dr. Bryan Enderle. I’m standing outside of Rock Hall where the
Chemistry Show is about to begin. This year’s theme is Energy, so it should
be pretty exciting! Do you know anything about chemistry? Uh, I do have a chemistry set, so I know a little. Are you guys excited for the show? Oh, of course! Looking forward to it! How excited are you? Very. 11. 11. Out of? Out of five. Fabulous! Are you guys looking forward to the Chemistry Show? Yeah. Is there anything in particular you’re excited
about? About all the science. This year, our theme was Energy, so we tried
to put together an exciting and engaging set of demonstrations that highlight the role
that chemistry plays in the field of energy. For our younger audience members, we hope
that getting their hands on some of our interactive exhibits, that maybe they will become interested
in science. We had a super fun day today, so we hope to
see you guys at Chemistry Picnic Day next year! Yeah, get all excited! Yeah! Yeah, chemistry! Yeah, energy! Whoo!
