Program Overview: BS – Tourism & Hospitality Management


– I’ve been with Johnson &
Wales for the last 30 years, and I’ve been teaching and
developing different courses in travel and tourism. I think that Johnson & Wales
is the best institution for those of you that would like to have hands-on experience from faculty members that have industry experience. All of us in the Hospitality College and the travel and tourism department have prior to coming to Johnson
& Wales industry experience. You will need to take courses
that give you backgrounds in the field of tourism and
the psychology of tourism and the economics of
tourism and the planning for tourism development and
sustainable tourism development and variety of other
courses that will give you a more complete understanding
of the industry. The industry as a whole is a $3 billion a day industry worldwide, and you’ll be able to carry
those skills that you learn here to a variety of location, meaning the U.S.A. you can work, in developing countries
you’ll be able to work, in international organization
you may find a job, in variety of subsegments of the industry and in variety of
categories of the industry, government, private
sectors, tour operator, consultant to developer
of tourism destination. This industry is a growth industry. This industry is an
industry that will allow you a high mobility between
the different segments of the industry. By choosing to take a degree
or to study for a degree at Johnson & Wales in travel and tourism, you actually open more than
one door for your future. You will have a few doors
open when you accomplish and complete a degree. (upbeat music)
