SDSU Hospitality and Tourism Management Master’s Program Instructor Vinod Sasidharan

The HTM program was conceptualized with the idea of delivering professional development through a clear set of courses that accentuate leadership skills. The real-world applications in this particular program, is what’s going to help students the most. The online part will be essentially information delivery but the real part behind the scenes where students will be, along with faculty guidance, be able to engage in projects that make real sense, real time, and provide them with real results right there. Our program is a hybrid program meaning we have book ends, starting off with real interactions between people and then we have a bunch of courses, modules, that are online and then we have the end of the program where people come back together physically. The course that I’m going to be teaching is sustainable development or green tourism or greening, going green whatever the case might be. The focus will not just talking about going green but looking at some of the leadership qualities and skills that are needed to go green such as the ability to be able to access, the ability to access sustainability. the ability to come up with innovative sustainability solutions for their specific organizations, not following a pre-existing model, but being able to create something organically for their individual organizations. To go beyond your professional leadership at the moment, join the program and you will get the HTM Edge.
