WHERE IT STAYS ALL SNOW, WE ARE FORECASTING AN ADDITIONAL 4 TO 6 INCHES. THIS WILL BE A THIN BAND OF HEAVY SNOW AND IT IS LOOKING LIKE IT WILL BE RIGHT ALONG AND JUST NORTH OF I-70. NORTH AND SOUTH OF THE HEAVY SNOW, SNOWFALL POTENTIAL IS AN ADDITIONAL 2-4 INCHES. THE THREAT FOR SNOW AND A THE WINTRY MIX WILL CONTINUE THROUGH LATE EVENING. AS TEMPERATURES DROP, WE ARE FORECASTING ALL SNOW FOR EVERYONE OVERNIGHT THROUGH EARLY TUESDAY. THE MORNING DRIVE ON TUESDAY WILL BE TRICKY AGAIN AND THERE WILL BE MORE SCHOOL DELAYS/CANCELLATION S. ADLIB TOSS TO MARY MILZ DOWNTOWN SINCE THIS SECOND ROUND OF SNOW STARTED…IT’S BEEN SINCE THIS SECOND ROUND OF SNOW STARTED…IT’S BEEN FALLING STEADY AND NON-STOP HERE IN HANCOCK COUNTY. IN THE PAST 24 HOURS STATE POLICE TOLD ME IN THE INDIANAPOLIS AREA 21 PEOPLE HAVE BEEN INJURED IN ALMOST 150 CRASHES AND MORE THAN 50 DRIVERS HAVE SLID OFF THE ROAD. HERE IN HANCOCK COUNTY I’VE SEEN PLOWS AND SALT TRUCKS AND LOTS OF DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. CITY AND COUNTY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES URGE PEOPLE TO STAY HOME AND DRIVERS TO SLOW DOWN. SCOTT AND ANNE MARIE..EVEN WITH THE ROAD CREWS OUT…DURING THIS SECOND ROUND OF SNOW IT’S PROBABLY GOING TO WORSE OUT HERE BEFORE IT GET’S BETTER. THIS WINTER STORM…ISN’T JUST CAUSING PROBLEMS HERE. IT’S CAUSING PROBLEMS ALL ACROSS THE COUNTRY. AND IT’S NOT JUST SNOW. THE SAME SYSTEM IS BRINGING HEAVY RAIN AND THE THREAT OF TORNADOES ACROSS THE SOUTH. NATS BEST STORM OR AMBIENT WITH LOTS OF SNOW THE MIDDLE OF THE COUNTRY IS .. A WINTERY MESS, RIGHT NOW.. “I WAS NOT EXPECTING THIS WEATHER. IT WAS CRAZY, WOKE UP AND THERE WAS SNOW.” NAT “WEST BOUND HAS FOUR PLOWS.” NEARLY A FOOT OF SNOW IN SOME AREAS.. A SHEET OF ICE IN OTHERS.. WRECKING THE MORNING COMMUTE.. MANGLED VEHICLES LITTERING ROADWAYS.. SOME FLIPPED OR ROLLED ON THEIR SIDES.. THE CONDITIONS BLAMED FOR HUNDREDS OF ACCIDENTS. ROAD CREWS STAGING.. AS THE STORM CONTINUES ITS MARCH TO THE NORTHEAST.. “OUR CONCERN IS ALWAYS THE ICE, THESE TRUCKS AND CREWS ARE SET UP TO HANDLE SNOW VERY WELL. ICE JUST VERY QUICKLY TURNS ROADS INTO A DANGEROUS SITUATION.” THE DANGER TO THE SOUTH.. HEAVY RAINS AND RARE DECEMBER TORNADOES.. “BOTTOM LINE HERE, IT’S GOING TO BE A LONG AFTERNOON.
