The First-Timer’s Guide to Beijing — Beijing, China | The Travel Intern

Hello from Beijing! It’s all our first times in Beijing and hell we don’t even speak Chinese I forsee a lot of ‘whats’ and ‘don’t understands’ It’s going to be a whole lot of fun Let’s go! The first thing on many peoples minds when you think of Beijing is of course the Great Wall of China The Great wall means Chang Cheng which means the long bridge and it spans for over 21000km And you can slide down the Great Wall! Bet you didn’t know that! We are at the largest palace complex in the world The Forbidden City also known as Gu Gong Nice Chinese la! The Forbidden City got its name because in the past only the emperor and his relatives could enter But these days just about anybody could get in as you can see There’s so many people! Yeah it’s crazy We’re now here at Jing Shan Park or Jing Shan Gong Yuan and it’s here where you can get the best panoramic view of the Forbidden City and the rest of Beijing We are climbing up to the Temple of Heaven or Tian Tan It is here at the Temple of heaven where emperors from the Ming and Qing dynasties came to pray for a bountiful harvest I’m here to pray for a promotion We’re now at 798 Art District also known as Da Shan Zi This place used to be a factory in the fifties but after everyone left its now become an art district full ofwonderful IG spots as you can see We are here at Bei Hai Park and Bei Hai Gong Yuan is one of the oldest and best preserved  ancient gardens in the whole of Beijing That’s right and here you can see people dance and sing and Clarence even managed to join one of them It’s quite amazing We’re now at Hu Guo Si Hu Tong where you can get authentic Beijing breakfast Look at all the choices here! Stacks on stacks of flavour! In China we go big or we go home today we are at Long Qing Gorge home to the worlds longest outdoor escalator And it’s a dragon! So here at Long Qing Gorge one of the things that you can do is go bungee jumping! I went through hell I went as a boy I came back as a man But you scream like a girl Guess where we are We’re at Happy Valley Amusement Park and the rides here are pretty insane Woah I’m damn dizzy Vomit in three, two, one No! And we have come to the last stop of our Beijing trip and we are at Wu Dao Kou and there is so much going on here and I think we deserve a break so that’s it! That’s The Travel Intern signing off from Beijing Bye!
