last night we stayed in this tent. Wonderful ambience, Bird’s tweets, silent river Today we are going to waterfalls then gavi forest ride in govt.bus We planned to take the 2:30 P.M bus Until then we would spend the time in waterfalls When we planned this Thekkady trip We didn’t expect off-road safari Travelling in-between tea plantation was One of my bucket list because We live close to Ooty in Coimbatore, but I ticked the bucket list only here in Thekkady because in Ooty most of them are restricted areas But here even to reach the falls we are travelling in between the estate Now we’re about to see the falls, It has an stunning view Would you believe if I say there’s a waterfalls behind this door? Waterfall shower, It was a good experience This is a perennial waterfalls only in the summer month the water is low Still they informed us it is sufficient to have a bath We reached Gavi check post Gavi forest is a good sightseeing place It’s a 2-3 hour bus ride There are only 3 slots 6:30 A.M, 10:30 A.m, 2:30 P.M Bus capacity is 33 but they’ll start the bus if enough people occupy They’re doing unethical tourism, they took off the bus after occupying just 23 people They’re doing this as business not tourism We reached the place at correct time but the bus left 15 minutes earlier This is similar to TamilNadu moffusil bus If you’ve been to Gavi earlier then Share your experience in the comments Like, comment and share this video Now we’re at spices and Tea outlets Thekkady is known for its spices that’s why the named it as ‘Land of spices’. So that’s the first thing to purchase here We get tea and dark chocolates in other hill station also like Nilgiri districts The quality of spices are great here Cost is also cheaper If you visit Thekkady then don’t miss buying Spices They’re using coconut oil to cook this So it tastes different in a good way using coconut is a unique way of cooking in Kerala. After purchasing chips and spices we we were just going towards coimbatore, On the way we noticed this Pennycuick’s memorial It was opened recently in the last govt. period I’ll let you more details from inside the memorial In the movie ‘Linga’ Rajni portrayed his character only Mullai and Periyar both rivers meet at the junction and they become Mullai-Periyar River and together they come outside this way to the Mullai-Periyar Dam. This is the baby dam this is Main dam and this one shut dam Suppose If this dam was not built then Periyar lake would have flowed down and could be used only inside Kerala and Tamilnadu would have not benefited Pennycuick built this dam so that, we use this shutter to block the water and reroute it to the same channel and make it flow to Kumily, Thekkady and 7 other districts in TamilNadu are able to use this river That’s why they built this memorial for him People in this district see him as a god In his name they even named a bus stand here called as Pennycuick bus stand or otherwise known as Theni bus stand ‘Linga’ Movie song playing….
