TOP 5 Things to do in St Petersburg 2020 Euro 2020 Russia

[music] Hello and welcome to “22 Seconds Travel”
today we’re in St Petersburg, the second biggest city in Russia my name is
Mario and today I’m going to show you my top 5 favorite things to do in St Petersburg [music] Hello we’re in the queue to Winter Palace,
interesting fact is that it would take 15 years for the single person to
actually see everything what inside so should we try to do that in 10 minutes
why not yes so before we go we’ll just need to wait
in a long queue so we’ve got plenty of time right? yes [crickets sound] [music] [music] [music] Hello we are inside
Saint Isaac Cathedral in St Petersburg this Cathedral was built between 1818
and 1858 so it took 40 years to finish the building of the Cathedral. The
Cathedral got a height of 105 meters which make it fourth highest cathedral
with the dome in the whole Europe after St Peter’s in Rome St Paul’s in
London, Santa Maria di Fiori in Florence interesting fact is that 100
kilograms of gold has been used for the dome itself and another 300 kilograms
been used for the interior design so everything inside look just outstanding
so actually let’s go on the top of the Cathedral now to have a look the view on
the city we’re going to the top of the cathedral to
the colonnade We’ve got 262 steps and we’re halfway through about babe hey how you’re doing? it’s good, she’s been quiet The entrance
is for tiny people only on my left hand side we can see the
church of the Savior of the Spilled Blood in the far distance so you also
have a view on the Winter Palace which is a nice green mint color and it’s
on the palace square [music] that’s what’s happening when you don’t
have umbrella Hello we are in St Petersburg and this
is definitely the number one attraction you need to see in the city is a Church
of the Saviour on the Spilled Blood it was built between 1883 and 1907 it took 24
years to build it and the interesting fact is that this church actually
survived the Second World War the bomb landed inside the church and surprisingly
didn’t explode, miracle? perhaps yeah! This is the memorial for
Alexander ii he was killed actually in the spot, piece of payment
is inside the church and to make sure the spot is inside they had to build the
extension for the canal so as you can see there is a straight line going
through and there is a curve so the church is just about the canal, so let’s
go inside hello we are in the Church of the
Saviour on the Spilled Blood, as you can see the cathedral is beautiful the
amazing thing is that every single think you see over there it’s not painting
it’s made of mosaic and every single bit was placed manually [music] Next week in “22 Second Travel” Those are my favorite things to do in St Petersburg. don’t forget to subscribe to stay
