Hello Bloggineers. This is our guide to Corpus Christi with kids and we are going to show you the fun things you can do here. Located in the South Texas Gulf Coast, Corpus Christi offers miles of beaches and bountiful things to see and do. Commissioned in 1943, this was the oldest working carrier in the United States Navy. Right now we’re in Corpus Christi! Decommissioned in 1991, the USS Lexington was open to the public the following year as a naval aviation museum Today we’ll be going on a self-guided tour. There are many exhibits and interactive displays aboard the ship. We’re playing with the carrier landings flight simulator. You sunk my battleship! We’re going to get a great view of the ocean. You can see the Gulf of Mexico right there. First, we’re going to explore the foc’sle, a forward upper deck area that extends to the bow. Let’s check out Knot Thinking, a section that showcases different types of knots. This stateroom has been recreated to look like those used in 1975. Now we’re learning about the attack on Pearl Harbor during World War II. The USS, Lexington participated in nearly every major operation in the Pacific Theater and spent a total of 21 months in combat. The Japanese reported Lexington sunk no less than four times, Yet each time she returned to fight again earning her the nickname “The Blue Ghost.” The inscription here is dedicated to those who died on the Arizona, December 7th, 1941. We’re going down to the next level to see more displays. Look how high this flight of stairs is. These are famous people who have visited the USS Lexington. There’s George W Bush and George HW Bush. Those seats were comfy. Let’s go down to the engine room This place is like a maze We’re heading back upstairs Next we’re going to watch a 3d movie Time to visit the flight deck The flight deck spans 120,000 square feet and displays many vintage aircrafts Now we’re going to walk the plank This is where they house the caliber gun Lastly we’re going to visit the navigation bridge We had so much fun at the USS, Lexington It’s time to check into our hotel and swing this casual We’ll all suite hotel is located nine miles from Corpus Christi beach We’re sitting in the middle an entire hotel and you can see all the room. Oh We’re having a light afternoon snack which has Goldfish Chex Mix roughly. There’s Tomatoes camera Tips and the salt and fish We’re going to the second floor I’m going to give you a tour of our room. I don’t know what this is, but it looks quite beautiful but by five Too bad. We didn’t bring our swimsuits because I really want to relax in the indoor pool It’s time to get something to eat a Harrison’s landing This restaurant features waterfront dining tropical drink scenic views and charming shopping They even have a fun kids menu. I ordered the Presto shrimp pasta, which comes with garlic bread my dad got the crab encrusted flounder and Cubs with rice and asparagus and brother is having fish and chips and today’s special is that it’s all-you-can-eat the press different pasta comes with midst of asparagus and tomatoes Inside it’s all throughout They’re a good size this is the hostage with my favorite pesto So the pasta Very pesto, we doesn’t disappoint me because it is just full of pesto flavor the shrimp I like the amount of shrimp said they give you it’s very plentiful throughout Ships are married Stay tuned for part two
