Hi everyone. I am Jaehwi. Welcome back to
Korean Weekly Words. Okay let’s see what we have for this week. Korean tourist attractions. Okay the first one we have is 경복궁 (gyeongbokgung)
which means “Gyeongbok Palace.” Okay with that word, I can say 경복궁은 1900년대
초까지 조선의 궁궐로 사용되었습니다. (Gyeongbokgungeun cheongubaeknyeondae chokkaji
joseonui gunggwollo sayongdoeeotsseumnida.) which means “Gyeongbok Palace was used as
the palace of Chosun Dynasty until early 1900s.” Okay next we have 롯데월드 (rottewoldeu)
which means “Lotte World.” Lotte World is the amusement park located in Gangnam area. 비가 와도 롯데월드에서는 놀이기구를 탈 수 있습니다. (Biga wado rottewoldeueseoneun norigigureul tal su itsseumnida.) which means “Even on rainy days, you can enjoy the rides in the Lotte World.” because now it’s inside the building. 제주 올레길 (jeju ollegil) which means
“Jeju Olle Trail.” Jeju is the name of the island located in south part of South
Korea and next one is 올레길 (ollegil) which means “narrow trail” in Jeju dialect.
Okay with that word, you can say 제주 올레길을 전부 다 돌아다니는 데에는
여섯 시간이 걸립니다.
(Jeju ollegireul jeonbu da doradanineun deeneun yeoseot sigani geollimnida.) which means “It will take about 6 hours to walk all the Olle Trail at once.” Okay next we have 해운대 (haeundae) which
means “Haeundae.” Haeundae is the beach area in Busan city. With that word, you can say 가장 사람이 많을 때에는 해운대에
사람이 80만 명 정도 있습니다.
(Gajang sarami maneul ttaeeneun haeundaee sarami palsipman myeong jeongdo itsseumnida.) which means “In
a peak season, you can find at the maximum of 800,000 people in one day in Haeundae area.” Okay next we have 한반도 비무장지대
(hanbando bimujangjidae). It’s known as “DMZ” area. 한반도 비무장지대에서는
북한 군인들을 직접 볼 수 있습니다.
(Hanbando bimujangjidaeeseoneun bukan gunindeureul jikjeop bol su itsseumnida.) which means “You can see North Korean soldiers if you go to DMZ area.” Yep. Not only for the North Korean soldiers, actually you can see many you know
deers or animals that you would never see in South Korea because in the DMZ area, development
has been prohibited. So it just keeps everything as it is since 1950s. Okay next we have the end. Okay, okay that’s
all for this week. I will see you next time. 다음 시간에 뵐게요.
(Daeum sigane boelgeyo.) 안녕히 계세요.
